Old-school first-person shooter fans, here is something really special for you today. Modder ‘darknovismc’ has released a new version of the DirectX 11 renderer for some classic Unreal Engine games. This new renderer add some new graphical features, including support for hardware tessellation.
Going into more details, this DX11 renderer works with Unreal, Unreal Tournament, Deus Ex and Rune. These dll extensions allow you to play these games on full HD resolution with some modern-day features.
For instance, it adds support for ambient occlusion which gives realistic ambient lightning and shadownig effects. Moreover, it introduces Screen Space Reflections which imitate reflective and shiny surfaces.
Furthermore, these classic games now support hardware tesselation. In case you didn’t know, tessellation increases mesh complexity, gives smoothess and roundess to characters and game objects.
It’s also worth noting that this DX11 brings support for Parallax Occlusion Mapping. This feature adds bumpiness on near to camera surfaces. Also, it adds support for HDR in order to simulate light adaptation and add more vivid colors.
You can download this latest version of the DX11 renderer from here. Below you can also find an older video that shows Unreal Tournament with the DX11 renderer.

Behaviour Interactive has revealed the all-new “Chains of Hate” update for the asymmetrical multiplayer horror game, Dead by Daylight. This major new content installment introduces a new killer, The Deathslinger who is a speargun-wielding engineer.

In addition, the update allows gamers to play as the new survivor Zarina Kassir. Zarina Kassir is a daring filmmaker with a knack for staying quiet and manipulating sound. Also, while full of health, Zarina can instantly heal other Survivors from dying to injured, or from injured to healthy.

The Witcher fans, here is something for you today. Patryk Loan has released a brand new project that allows you to experience the first The Witcher game in VR. This “mod” currently supports Oculus, HTC, and Windows Mixed Reality.
Before continuing, let’s clarify something really important here. This project does not bring mod support to the vanilla game. Instead, the modder is remaking some of the game’s maps in Unreal Engine 4 with VR support.
At the moment, this project only features one map, Kaer Morhen. As such, players can walk and explore the iconic castle in VR. There aren’t any combat mechanics, and you should not expect to find any enemies.
Patryk Loan plans to add even more maps from the first game via future updates. He also plans to make a fully playable plot.
But anyway, you can download this The Witcher Unreal Engine 4 VR project from here. Below you can also find a video showcasing this project in action.

BigTinz has released a new overhaul mod for Far Cry 4. Far Cry 4: Redux is a mod that focuses on immersion, and aims to improve the gameplay mechanics of this FC game.
According to the modder, this Redux version of Far Cry 4 allows players to manually reload. It also disables Lens Flares, and allows you to holster your weapons.
Players can now jump higher and walk slower. Players also do not automatically draw their weapons after swimming or after leaving a building.
All weapons are unlocked from the start, though they must be purchased. Towers also remove the fog of war, but do not give free weapons. Not only that, but the full map is open from the start.
The mod removes most UI elements not covered by the options menu, including mine and c4 indicators, and the crouch icon.
Furthermore, there are now more attachments for weapons. There is also a higher weapon FOV for all weapons. Speaking of weapons, the “87” is now a standard sidearm, and its reflex sight has been removed. On the other hand, the D2 features wood furniture by default, and has two shots. Not only that, but the mod also increases the range of some weapons, as well as headshot damage.
Last but not least, most inputs are now “press” instead of “hold”.

Bethesda released a new unlisted trailer for the upcoming first-person shooter DOOM Eternal. Basically the trailer explains what the game is all about, meaning ripping and tearing…until it is done.
Hell’s armies have invaded Earth. The only thing they fear…is you. Become the DOOM Slayer in an epic single-player campaign to destroy demons across dimensions and stop the final destruction of humanity. The DOOM Slayer looks even angrier this time, if that’s even possible.
Raze Hell and discover the Slayer’s origins and his enduring mission to rip and tear. Then, enter BATTLEMODE and choose your side in a new ‘Slayer vs Demons’ multiplayer experience.
DOOM Slayer’s Praetor Suit is the latest demon-killing tech, which allows him to equip a shoulder-mounted flamethrower and the retractable wrist-mounted DOOM Blade.
You can’t kill demons if you are dead and you can’t stay alive without resources. Take what you need by destroying enemies: Glory kill for extra health, incenerate for armor, and chainsaw demons in half to stock up on ammo.
The DOOM Slayer will begin ripping and tearing on March 20th, so in case you are a demon I would advise you to settle your affairs before then.
StarCraft Ghost is a game that a lot of Blizzard fans would love to play. This was a third-person stealth-action game for Xbox, Playstation 2 and PC, and looked kind of cool. And, thankfully, we can now take a look at a build prior to its cancellation.
The following gameplay footage comes from an Xbox dev kit that has been leaked online. Thus, you can find below a video showing 7 minutes of gameplay footage. Do note that this is a beta build, meaning that the game is not that polished.
In StaCraft Ghost, players would control the Terran Ghost character, Nova. Throughout the game, Nova would use stealth and darkness to reach objectives and remain undetected.
Unfortunately, Blizzard has cancelled StarCraft Ghost, and there aren’t currently any plans to resurrect the project. So yeah, you won’t be able to play this game anytime soon. Still, it’s pretty cool witnessing such videos as they can give us an idea of what a cancelled game looked and played like.

A few days ago, we informed you about the removal of all the Activision Blizzard games from NVIDIA’s streaming service, GeForce Now. And earlier this week, the green team explained the reasons behind their removal.
According to NVIDIA, the removal of these games was due to a misunderstanding between the green team and Activision.
“Activision Blizzard has been a fantastic partner during the GeForce Now beta, which we took to include the free trial period for our founders membership. Recognizing the misunderstanding, we removed their games from our service. We hope hope we can work with them to re-enable these, and more, in the future.”
According to reports, Activision Blizzard wanted to negotiate a new commercial agreement before its games were available on GeForce Now. However, NVIDIA had stated that it does not currently plan to have commercial agreements with game publishers. Obviously, this displeased Activision and the publisher decided to remove its games from this service.
NVIDIA claimed that it hope it can re-enable them in the future. However, there isn’t any ETA on when such a thing may happen.

This is the Year 5 for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, which is probably the most popular online title from Ubisoft. Operation Void Edge comes with two new Operators, a map rework and numerous gameplay updates.
The two new Operators are Oryx and Iana. The first will join the defending team and the second the attacking team. Oryx is Jordanian Operator who can sprint, climb and smash his way around the map. Iana is a Dutch Operator who can create and control a holographic clone of herself.
Oregon is one of the original Rainbow Six Siege maps and the rework was designed to refresh the layout and also create more strategic opportunities. The small office tower and the basement have been expanded. The attic connector above the meeting hall will have more options now for the Operators.
One of the gameplay updates will make the attacker’s drones now spawn on the same side of the building as the attacker’s first spawn location choice. The gameplay and balancing updates, as well as the Oregon map rework, will be free for all players.
The Operators will be available at launch for Year 5 Pass holders, and will be available for all players to unlock using Renown or R6 Credits one week after launch.
A Test Server for PC players will go live on February 17 and will allow players to test the upcoming features as they are fine-tuned before being added to the game.
Rainbow Six Siege: Void Edge will be released on March 9th.

Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem is a new action RPG that fully released on the PC a few days ago. Powered by CRYENGINE, this indie game pushes some of the best graphics we’ve seen in an action RPG. In fact, the game can – at some times – look as good as the pre-release footage of Diablo 4.
In order to capture the following screenshots, we used an Intel i9 9900K with 16GB of DDR4 at 3600Mhz. Naturally, we’ve paired this machine with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080Ti. We also used Windows 10 64-bit and the GeForce 442.19 driver.
Now I should note that this is a game from a small team that has been in Early Access for a while. As such, it’s really fascinating witnessing this game pushing the graphical boundaries of action RPGs.
In terms of performance, our NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080Ti was almost able to push a 60fps experience on Very High settings in 4K. The reason I used the word “almost” is because there are some rare scenes in which our framerate dropped to 50fps. Still, and despite those drops, the game felt really smooth on our G-Sync monitor.
For comparison purposes, Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem runs a bit slower but looks significantly better than Darksiders: Genesis.
So yeah, Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem is a bit more demanding than your usual action RPGs. However, the game does look stunning so I guess it somehow justifies these high GPU requirements.

Bleeding Edge is the upcoming 4v4 team brawler from Ninja Theory. This game looks very different from all the others before, especially Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. If you are a fan of that game there is no need to worry, because the studio is already working on a sequel.
Bleeding Edge offers twelve characters to choose from and most of them have melee attacks. There are three classes available: damage, support and tank. The game requires technique, timing and teamwork.
Ninja Theory’s creative director, Rahni Tucker, said Bleeding Edge will not feature any microtransactions.
You can access the closed beta through the Xbox Game Pass or by pre-ordering the game, which I wouldn’t advise. Also all alpha players are granted access to the closed beta. If you participated in the technical alpha via Steam, you will receive the closed beta Steam key through mail.
Bleeding Edge’s closed beta will end on February 17th at 12:00AM PT. Don’t worry if you miss this one, because another closed beta will take place on March 13th.

This Super Mario Bros FPS demo features the first level from the game. Players can explore it, collect coins, and use weapons in a first-person mode to kill enemies. The attention to detail is extraordinary and this could have easily passed as an official Nintendo game.
Unfortunately, there isn’t any exact release date of when this tech demo will go live. Still, Noonan claims that he will release it soon. Right now, there are currently a couple of little quality of life features that he needs to finish off.

Owlcat Games has announced that their current Kickstarter campaign for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous has reached $1 million after only eight days. Similarly, PlatinumGames has announced that The Wonderful 101: Remastered has surpassed $1.5 million.
Since Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous broke its $1 million goal, it will also feature a turn-based mode. According to the team, this mode has been one the most demanded features requested by the community. Although the game is designed and balanced with RTWP (real-time with pause), the team will develop a turn-based mode to reinforce the tabletop immersion. This mode will give players the option to experience a play session almost identical to the tabletop version. They will be able to switch modes back and forth on the fly, without the need for reloading location. The team will reveal more info on the turn-based mode at a later date.
Oleg Shpilchevskiy, Head of Studio, said:
“We want to thank the mod community for all the work they did with Pathfinder: Kingmaker. We took inspiration from Hsunyu’s modification, which added a turn-based mode to the game. The players liked it so much that with the launch of the Kickstarter campaign, we have received a large number of messages from the community eager to play Wrath of the Righteous with TBM. In fact, we have been working on it for quite some time. Thus, the plan was to announce it later once a demo was going to be playable. But with all the enthusiasm in the community, we decided to share it now. Our focus remains the same; the new game is designed to be played in real-time with pause, but if you want to go turn-based, you will have such an option.”
On the other hand, The Wonderful 101: Remastered will now feature a brand new 2D side scrolling adventure. At $1.75 million, the team will also remix the game’s soundtrack.

Lost Souls Version 2.0 aims to improve the game visually and also make it slightly more hardcore. However, the mod also tries to keep the essential STALKER experience intact.
Going into more details, version 2.0 adds a new Main Menu Background and Options Tab. It also brings sharper HD Textures for Structures, Vehicles, Props and Decals, as well as sharper HD Textures for All Nature with an enhanced Autumn Feeling. BabyZone has shared two videos that all Mortal Kombat fans must see. The YouTuber has used DeepFake in order to bring a number of celebrities to Mortal Kombat 11. And yes, as the title suggests, Keanue Reeves, Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee are among them.
Going into more details, BabyZone has replaced Kabal with Dwayne The Rock Johnson and Johnny Cage with Jean-Claude Van Damme. These two replacements look cool but they are nowhere close to those for Sub-Zero and Kung Lao. Keanu Reeves is used for Sub-Zero, whereas Jackie Chan is used for Kung Lao. The end result here is incredible and among the best we’ve seen.
Lastly, BabyZone used Bruce Campbell for the Terminator, Bruce Lee for Liu Kang and Joaquin Phoenix for the Joker.
Now in case you’re wondering, this skin pack is not available for download. BabyZone trained his models on DeepFace lab using his own facesets. Furthermore, all footage were post-edited in after effect after training and merging. So yeah, you cannot have these skins in the game.

PUBG Corporation has released a brand new update for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. This patch adds a brand new way to experience PUBG – Arcade Mode. Through Arcade mode, players will be able to enjoy new ways to play the game outside of the traditional Battle Royale format.
The classic Team Deathmatch mode will be available in Arcade for a limited time. In Team Deathmatch, two teams of eight will face off against each other in a winner takes all frag fest where the first team to reach 50 kills or who has the highest kills after ten minutes takes the round. The first team to secure two round victories is the overall winner of the match. Team Deathmatch features sections of PUBG’s iconic maps that have been converted into smaller battlefields perfect for TDM mayhem.
Update 6.2 also brings a much requested rebalance of throwables. Frag grenades, Molotovs, Smoke grenades, and stun grenades will now all weigh more, meaning you can carry fewer of them in your inventory. Vests will now also mitigate frag grenade damage and fire from molotovs will spread considerably faster.
It’s also worth noting that this patch improves performance with additional WorldOriginShift optimizations. It also resolves a number of bugs and issues.
While Update 6.2 will go live on February 19th, it is currently available on the PTS. As such, PC gamers can go ahead and test it.
Last but not least, you can find its full patch notes here.

Back in January 2019, Eurogamer’s Tom Phillips hinted at Dreams coming to the PC. And while it is possible, the creative director of Dreams, Mark Healey, confirmed that the game is not currently under development for the PC.
Healey stated that it would be great to see Dreams on the PC. As the game’s creative director told VGC:
“I think that would be cool. I mean obviously Sony have an opinion about that but yeah, I think, I don’t know where it’s going to go in the future, I mean it would be great to see that.”
However, the team is not currently working on such a project.
“That’s not something that’s happening right now. But I think a lot of that depends on where the games industry goes in general, I suppose.”
What’s also interesting here is that Healey hinted at Sony’s new strategy regarding its first-party titles. So yeah, we can expect more Sony games to be releasing on the PC in the future.
“I mean I think Sony have become more open recently to publishing stuff on the PC in general anyway, haven’t they? Isn’t there some stuff that’s happening, I’m not sure?”

The post Borderlands 3 February Update is now available, increases level cap, full patch notes revealed appeared first on DSOGaming.
Remedy has announced that it is currently working on four games/projects. The “first game project” is the single-player campaign of CrossfireX. The second project is also a game in the Crossfire universe, though we don’t have enough information about it yet.
Perhaps the most promising projects, however, are the next two games. The third game is an unannounced one that has a team of 20 people. According to Remedy, the project is proceeding well.
The fourth project is Vanguard which has reached its first internally playable development version. Vanguard will be long-term service-based multiplayer title. Moreover, it will come with some of Remedy’s unique game features.
Both of these games are currently in a pre-production stage, so don’t expect them anytime soon.
We’ll be sure to keep you posted, so stay tuned for more!
