CD Projekt Red has released its latest financial charts, and revealed that The Witcher 3 sold more copies on the PC than all consoles combined in 2019. This is huge and shows the long legs of PC games, something that a lot of companies have acknowledged over the last few years.
As we can clearly see, the PC platform is the most successful one for The Witcher 3 these past couple of years. Surprisingly enough, in 2015, the PS4 sold more copies than the PC version. Then, in 2016, these two platforms were equal. However, in both 2017 and 2018, the PC was able to surpass PS4. And, in 2019, the PC sales of The Witcher 3 are more than all of the console sales.
My guess is that this graph includes all of the special discounts that CD Projekt RED has offered. Thus, this most likely includes the GOG Special Sale events. What this basically means is that PC revenue percentage does not equal to the PC unit sales percentage. So yeah, keep that in mind while looking at this graph. Nevertheless, it’s at least good knowing that the game keeps selling well on the PC. Well… at least when it comes to unit sales.
In similar news, CD Projekt RED has reported 521 million PLN in 2019 sales revenue. This is around 124 million US dollars. Moreover, this number is 44% higher than CD Projekt RED’s revenue in 2018.

According to reports, Intel will officially reveal its next-generation Comet Lake CPUs on April 30th. And according to some early leaks, the high-end model, the Intel Core i9 10900-series, will require a lot of power and will run really hot.
HXL has shared the following images, showing the i9 10900F during a stress test. This CPU was running at 4.5Ghz on all ten cores and as we can clearly see, it hits 89 degrees of Celcium. And while Intel claims that this CPU may hit 5.3Ghz, it will obviously require the best CPU cooler solution in order to come close to that.
Not only that, but the i9 10900F has a PL1 rating of 170W and a PL2 rating of 224W. What this means is that the official TDP will be around 170W. However, and in order to sustain such overclocks on all cores, this CPU will require at times 224W.
Again, from what we know so far, Intel will officially reveal its Comet Lake CPUs on April 30th. The first benchmarks and reviews will also appear on April 30th. Lastly, the latest rumors suggest a late May release.
Stay tuned for more!

A couple of days ago, we informed you about the release of The Witcher 3 Redux Version 1.9. And it appears that its creator has been hard at work fixing and tweaking this mod. Thus, today, Aleks Vuckovic released a brand new version of The Witcher 3 Redux.
Going into more details, The Witcher 3 Redux Version 2.0 reworks Whirl/Severance. As the modder noted.
“In summary, Whirl with Severance works the exact same as previous versions of the mod. Whirl on its own however now drains less Stamina and doesn’t drain Adrenaline at all but stops its generation.”
Moreover, this new version reworks Sign skill “Melt Armor”. This skill will now lower damage resistance instead of Armor, based on Sign Intensity. Version 2.0 also modifies combat skill “Crippling Strikes” to damage 2% of the enemy’s MAX health, instead of current.
Furthermore, The Witcher 3 Redux V2.0 decreases attack power bonus Adrenaline Points provide from 15% to 10%. It also slightly increases the health of Bruxas and Alps, and prevents enemies from parrying when they have 0 stamina.
You can download The Witcher 3 Redux Version 2.0 from here. As we’ve already reported, this gameplay overhaul mod is not compatible with other gameplay mods. Below you can also find its complete changelog.
- Reworked Whirl/Severance. In summary, Whirl with Severance works the exact same as previous versions of the mod. Whirl on its own however now drains less Stamina and doesn’t drain Adrenaline at all but stops its generation.
- Enemies can no longer parry if they have 0 stamina. Vanilla says it works like this, but it doesn’t.
- Reworked Sign skill “Melt Armor”. Will now lower damage resistance instead of Armor based on Sign Intensity. Armor is a useless stat in the game, especially mid-late game.
- Modified combat skill “Crippling Strikes” to damage 2% of the enemy’s MAX health, instead of current. Dropped apply chance from 15% to 10% per Adrenaline Point.
- Fixed Description of the “Attack is the Best Defense” general skill.
- Added some flair to the Archgriffin Decocotion – will briefly slow down time when activated.
- Fixed Igni “Core Ability” damage tooltip from not taking into account the damage boost from the Pyromaniac skill if equipped.
- Decreased attack power bonus Adrenaline Points provide from 15% to 10%.
- Slightly increased the health of Bruxas and Alps.
- Minor modification to critical hit chance calculations. Having a critical hit chance of >=200% will allow for critical hits to be scored against enemies who are usually immune. This makes abilities like “Killing Spree” more viable.

Resident Evil fans, here is something special for you today. Modder ‘Darknessvaltier’ has released a pretty cool mod for Resident Evil 3 Remake. This mod replaces Carlos with our beloved Chris Redfield, and it’s a must-have for all Chris’ fans out there.
As you may have guessed, this is just a 3D character/model swap mod and nothing more. The good news here is that this mod has full facial animations. It’s also really cool watching Chris working with Jill once again.
As a bonus, we’re presenting you a Resident Evil 3 Remake vs Devil May Cry 5 mod. Created by Wiwilz, this mod replaces Carlos with Dante from Devil May Cry 5. This mod also brings Dante’s iconic clothes from DMC5, so that’s another bonus. Unfortunately, though, there are some bugs. For example, Dante’s coat stretches a bit sometimes and there aren’t any physics to his coat.
But anyway, I’m pretty sure that some Resident Evil 3 Remake fans will find these mods cool. You can download the Chris Redfield Resident Evil 3 Remake mod from here, and the Dante Devil May Cry 5 mod from here. Also note that you will need Fluffy Manager 5000 in order to install both of them.

We recently informed you regarding some new details of the upcoming Resident Evil 8. According to BHd, the title will feature the subtitle, Village. This is possibly a working title, meaning it could end up being different.
BHd also provided some information about the characters. First of all, the protagonist will probably be the same guy from Resident Evil 7. You know, Ethan, that guy no one knows. Chris Redfield is also back, and he will have an integral part in the game.
Chris appears in flashbacks surrounding Ethan and his girlfriend. You know, Mia, that crazy bitch that stabbed you and cut off your freaking hand. Thank god for convenient surgical staplers.
Ethan and Mia now have a baby, but it is unclear what the baby has to do with the narrative. Also, Chris doesn’t look the same as before. This time he looks less heroic than he usually does. He can be seen shooting at Ethan and Mia in a flashback sequence. Don’t worry, I’m pretty sure the baby survives.
Lastly, it looks like Capcom is playing with the concept of inventory management yet again. According to BHd, Capcom is testing both a Resident Evil 7 style UI alongside a Resident Evil 4 style.
So maybe Resident Evil 4 is also getting a remake? Maybe, but until then take everything with a grain of salt. We will make sure to let you know if anything else comes up.

Death Stranding is the latest game from Kojima Productions that showcases what Guerilla’s Decima engine is capable of. However, it appears that someone has decided to showcase what a VR version of this game could look like in Unity Engine.
Created by KingCeryn, this VR tech demo of Death Stranding in Unity Engine looks absolutely amazing. From the looks of it, KingCeryn has ported some models and textures from Death Stranding in order to create this tech demo.
Now keep in mind that this is a one-man project. As such, you should not expect the same quality of a game that comes from a whole studio. So yeah, don’t expect this to look better than the actual game. Still, and since Death Stranding does not support VR, this tech demo showcases some of its VR possibilities.
According to KingCeryn, this Death Stranding VR Tech Demo features a full map, enemies, biomes. It also has weather effects, bosses, mission chains and vehicles. Furthermore, there’s a really awesome VR-Cutscene after the final boss that he created.
Unfortunately, though, he does not plan to release this project to the public. Still, you can find below a video showing this VR Tech Demo in action.
Let’s hope that this fan demo will motivate Hideo Kojima to implement a VR mode to the game!

Half-Life and Portal fans, here is something special for you today. Modder ‘NOAHakaVOSEN’ has finally released Version 1.0 for his Portal Mod for Half-Life Source. As its title suggests, Half-Life: Source -- Portal Edition adds the Portal gun to Half-Life: Source.
What this means is that you will be able to play the whole Half-Life: Source single-player campaign with the Portal Gun. Moreover, all of the features from Portal appear to be working great in Half-Life: Source.

It’s been a couple of weeks since DOOM Eternal released, and someone has already finished the game in under 31 minutes. Which is pretty crazy if you think about, and even more crazy when you watch it. Seriously, take a look at the video, it’s completely bonkers.
Speedrunning is nothing new in gaming, but recently it’s getting more attention. Titles like DOOM & DOOM Eternal are excellent games for speedruns. Player Distortion2 finished the game in 32 minutes. However, in case you don’t already know, most speedrunners use glitches in order to create shortcuts.
You can watch the speedrun video below and see how Distortion2 utterly brakes the game for his own benefit. Of course, I’m fairly certain that someone will soon beat his time. Nevertheless, creating such a video requires dedication, skill and focus, so kudos to Distortion2.

Dying Light 2 is a game we are really looking forward to. After all, Dying Light was one of the best zombie games to date. Dying Light 2 will be using C-Engine and will take advantage of real-time ray tracing. And, in an interview with OPM, Techland’s rendering director Tomasz Sza?kowski talked a bit about the game’s Ray Tracing effects.
As Sza?kowski told OPM:
“Dying Light 2 is the largest game we’ve created using our in-house C-engine. It is very important for us to achieve our ambitions in terms of graphics, which is why this will be the first Techland production to support ray tracing. We are implementing it in cooperation with Nvidia [on PC] and using the latest achievements in this domain.”
According to the developer, Techland will use Ray Tracing for the game’s shadows and Global Illumination effects. Moreover, it will further enhance the game’s Ambient Occlusion effects.
“Thanks to this technology, our shadows in sunny weather look like they really would (among other reasons, because they take into account the size of the sun in the sky). Ambient occlusion effects have gained spatial stability and no longer suffer from compromises tied to the specifics of effects affecting screen space (they operate only on what is visible on the screen. As such, the floor under a table doesn’t affect the displayed image when we look down at the tabletop)
Dark Zones are an important element of our game, which is why we are experimenting with secondary illumination (reflected off surfaces) from artificial light sources (such as the player’s flashlight), which will make the experience of exploring these regions even more intense.”
Unfortunately, there is no ETA on when Dying Light 2 will come out. In January 2020, Techland announced that the game will miss its Spring 2020 release!

So even if you get stranded to some lifeless beach, you will always have the photo mode to keep you company. You can watch the video showcasing the PC photo mode below.

It appears that new versions/editions of Mafia 2, Mafia 3 and Saints Row The Third are currently under way. The Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee has rated has rated Mafia 2 Definitive Edition and Mafia 3 Definitive Edition. On the other hand, ESRB has rated Saints Row The Third Remastered.
Unfortunately, we don’t have enough information about these new releases. My guess is that Mafia 3 will not feature major visual or performance improvements on the PC. On the other hand, we may see some graphical improvements in Mafia 2. However, it will be interesting to see whether the game will still have its NVIDIA-exclusive PhysX effects.
The ESRB has not revealed any major details about Saints Row The Third Remastered too. Since this game originally old-gen platforms, we may see some graphical changes and improvements. However, you should not expect any major overhauls. My guess is that we’ll get better lighting effects and higher quality textures.

Modder ‘Aleks Vuckovic’ has released a brand new version of his gameplay overhaul mod for The Witcher 3. The Witcher 3 Redux version 1.9 brings major improvements and tweaks to Adaptive Human Intelligence. Moreover, it fixes a number of bugs and glitches.
Going into more details, The Witcher 3 Redux V1.9 removes “AHI” logic from “Peasant class” human enemies and slightly lowers AHI buffs. Furthermore, dodging attacks will now change human enemies’ tactics and they will increase their speed to compensate. Also, Samum bombs will now remove all buffs applied from AHI and permanently “disorient” human enemies.
On the other hand, this latest version fixes issue where the combat skill “Cold Blood” did not provide an Adrenaline Point when killing an enemy. It also adds graphical HUD element for the Fatigue mechanic. Additionally, it fixes an issue where Manticore Gear did not provide Stamina Regen bonuses despite now being a Light Armor.
It’s also worth noting that its previous version further tweaked AHI. For instance, Parrying and Countering now have a greater debuff effect on human enemies.
You can download The Witcher 3 Redux V1.9 from here. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

Indefatigable has announced that its retro first-person shooter, AMID EVIL, will support NVIDIA’s new DLSS tech, DLSS 2.0, in the near future. In addition, the team has released a new patch that upgrades its engine to Unreal Engine 4.24.3.
Not only that, but this latest update adds ray traced shadows. In the past, AMID EVIL only supported ray traced reflections. However, the team has now added support for ray traced shadows. Thus, players can expect softer penumbra and enemy shadows. However, these shadows are only visible in the RT Waterfall demo level.
Alongside the aforementioned improvements, the latest update makes weapon speed ‘FPS independent’. This basically means that higher frame rates will no longer mean slower weapons. Furthermore, fixes a bug where the music would restart/cut out, as well as some more enemy spawns throughout the game.
Indefatigable has not revealed when DLSS 2.0 will come to AMID EVIL, however, we’ll be sure to keep you posted. Until then, you can find the release notes for the game’s latest update here.

Resident Evil 3 Remake is the latest RE game from Capcom that has been recently released. Powered by the RE Engine and supporting both DX11 and DX12, it’s time now to benchmark this game and see how it performs on the PC platform.
For this PC Performance Analysis, we used an Intel i9 9900K with 16GB of DDR4 at 3600Mhz, AMD’s Radeon RX580 and RX Vega 64, NVIDIA’s RTX 2080Ti, GTX980Ti and GTX690. We also used Windows 10 64-bit, the GeForce driver 445.75 and the Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.4.1 drivers. NVIDIA has not added any SLI profile for this game, meaning that our GTX690 performed similarly to a single GTX680.
Resident Evil 3 Remake comes with lots of PC graphics settings to tweak. PC gamers can adjust the quality of Anti-Aliasing, Textures, Texture Filtering, Mesh, Shadows, Particles, Ambient Occlusion and Volumetric Lighting. There are also options for Screen Space Reflections, Subsurface Scattering, Lens Flares, Bloom and Depth of Field. Thankfully, Capcom has also added an option to enable or disable Chromatic Aberration. There is also support for AMD’s FidelityFX technique.
In order to find out how the game scales on multiple CPU threads, we simulated a dual-core, a quad-core and a hexa-core CPU. And, as we’ve already said, Resident Evil 3 Remake supports both DirectX 11 and DirectX 12. Now here is something really interesting here. Resident Evil 3 Remake depends heavily on the number of available CPU threads. When using more than six CPU cores/threads, the game runs better in DX12. With less CPU threads, the game runs faster in DX11. For instance, when we tried the game on our simulated dual-core system (with Hyper Threading enabled), we experienced major stuttering issues in DX12. When we switched to DX11, most of the stutters were gone and we were able to run the game. Therefore, make sure to enable Hyper Threading for this title in case your CPU supports it.
For what it’s worth, both our Intel i7 4930K and our Intel i9 9900K were able to run the game in DX12. Let’s not forget that the i7 4930K has twelve threads. Moreover, and even at 1080p, there weren’t any performance differences between these two setups.
On a high-end PC system, DX11 can noticeably decrease performance. Below you can find some comparison screenshots between DX11 and DX12. As you can see, our RTX2080Ti was underused in DX11. Our guess is that this behavior is mainly due to a draw call/driver overhead.
At this point, we should note that the game does not come with any built-in benchmark. As such, we’ve contacted our very own benchmark during one of the game’s most demanding scenes. This scene is when Jill and Brad Vickers encounter a swarm of zombies. Thus, consider our benchmark as a stress test/worst case scenario benchmark.
In our stress test, our AMD Radeon RX580 was simply unable to provide a smooth gaming experience at 1080p and on Max settings. This particular GPU pushed a minimum of 50fps and an average of 53fps. Again, this is a worst case scenario, meaning that there are other areas that run significantly faster than it.
At 2560×1440 and Max settings, the only GPU that was able to offer a constant 60fps experience was the RTX2080Ti. The AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 came close to it, though there were frequent drops to 55fps. In 4K, there wasn’t any GPU that could run our stress test with constant 60fps. Still, the RTX2080Ti was able to offer a smooth gaming experience at 3328×1872.
Graphics wise, Resident Evil 3 Remake looks great and definitely justifies its GPU requirements. Truth be told, there are some graphical similarities with Resident Evil 2 Remake. Despite these similarities, though, Resident Evil 3 Remake looks better. All of its characters are highly detailed, and there are some pretty huge explosions. The volumetric lighting effects are also great, and there is a mod that can unlock the 30fps animations of distant zombies. Most of the textures are also of high-quality. Our only gripe with the game’s visuals are its “pixel-y/noisy” reflections. Unfortunately, Capcom has not improved them and they look as noisy as those in Resident Evil 2 Remake.
All in all, and thanks to both DX11 and DX12, Resident Evil 3 Remake runs great on the PC platform. Owners of CPUs with less than six threads will have to use the DX11 API. On the other hand, owners of CPUs with more than six threads can use the DX12 API. From what we’ve seen, Volumetric Lighting can have a big performance hit, so make sure to lower it in case you encounter performance issues. And, for the most part, an AMD Radeon RX580 is enough for gaming at 1080p/Max settings. We also did not experience any mouse smoothing or acceleration issues.
Similarly to Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake locks the animations of distant zombies to 30fps. Naturally, this can be really distracting, especially on the PC. Thankfully, though, there is now a mod that unlocks/uncaps the animations of all distant zombies.
Created by modder ‘WT3WD’, FPS Zombies will allow all distant zombies to have animations at 60fps or more. All you have to do is download the mod from here. Then, you’ll have to run the game and THEN run the file. Afterwards, you’ll have to press F2 to enable the script and F3 to activate the 60fps hack. And that’s it.
Needless to say that this is a must-have mod for all Resident Evil 3 Remake PC gamers out there. Alongside this mod, we suggest trying this mod that allows you to play the game in first-person mode. It’s a pretty cool concept and we highly recommend it for your second playthrough.
You can also try the Ultimate Trainer Mod that allows you to change the game’s FOV, remove Vignette, and do some really cool changes to the game. We also suggest using this mod for your second playthrough as it can bring major changes to the RE3R’s gameplay mechanics and overall experience.
Have fun everyone!

Back in February 2020, we informed you about a PS4 emulator that could run some commercial games. However, it appears that there is another Playstation 4 emulator under development. This emulator is called Spine and is only available for Linux.
According to its creator, there are 20-50 games that can go in-game with this emulator. Now obviously these games have a lot of artifacts and glitches. Not only that, but most of them are indie games. So yeah, don’t expect playing Marvel’s Spider-Man on your PC anytime soon. Still, it’s really fascinating witnessing these baby steps for the Playstation 4 emulators.
As said, this emulator is only available for Linux and you can download its demo version from here. I’m pretty sure that most of you won’t find it useful (as most PC gamers are using Windows instead of Linux). Nevertheless, here is a PS4 emulator that you can run it for yourselves.
Again, you should temper your expectations as both Spine and GPCS4 are in very early development stages. I mean, RPCS3 is still unable to run at full speed most of PS3’s triple-A games. So yeah, don’t expect to see below God of War running in 4K and with 60fps.
